First Round: Cory the Conquistador vs. Dum the Dominant

Both opponents circle each other as the battle commences. Dum peers over the top of his shield as Cory readies his blow-darts. Instead of immediately charging Cory, Dum waits it out and is awarded with a thick volley of furious darts. Dum is able to block or dodge many of the darts, but several slip through his defenses and sink deep into his skin. Cory runs head long toward Dum holding his katana above his head and releasing a deadly war cry. Dum frantically tries to remove the darts, but before he knows it Cory is upon him. Cory brings his katana down as hard as he can towards Dum’s head but at the last second Dum spins to the left and dodges the blow while pulling his dagger from its sheath on his hip. Cory’s katana sinks deep into the earth and he pulls it out as fast as he can, but not before Dum buries his dagger deep into his back. Dum jumps back as Cory howls in pain dropping his katana in the dirt. Cory turns to face Dum as he pulls the dagger from his back. He then tosses the blood soaked blade at Dum’s face but he blocks it with his shield. Dum knows that if he wants to defeat Cory he will need a bigger blade. He then drops his shield and pulls out his broadsword flourishing it as he beckons Cory back into the fight. Cory unleashes his nunchucks as Dum charges him and miraculously blocks ever blow that Dum can deal. Dum stabs at Cory but Cory uses his nunchucks to wrap up the blade of Dum’s broadsword. With a quick twist of his wrists he yanks the broadsword from Dum’s hands and into the air. Cory amazingly catches the broadsword’s handle and immediately brings it down for a thrust at Dum’s head. But at this point Dum has retrieved his shield and the sword sinks deep into its metal. Cory throws the broadsword downward towards the ground then pins the handle with his foot. Because the sword is still stuck in the shield, and the shield to Dum’s arm, Dum is yanked downward as the shield no longer protects his body. Cory pulls two throwing stars from his belt and hurls them at the vulnerable Dum; both of the stars piercing his eyes. Cory claims victory as Dum writhes in pain, dying a slow death.
