Stephen begins to launch his javelins towards Nicolas. Nicolas works his way closer to Stephen as he carefully dodges the incoming javelin missiles. One of the stray javelins slams into his shoulder, severely denting his armor and badly injuring his shoulder. Stephen runs out of javelins and quickly arms himself with his shield and a spear. He crouches low to protect his body while trying to keep Nicolas as a distance. Nicolas sees that it will be hard for him to get a strike on the well protected Stephen. Nicolas pulls out a longbow and tries to shoot arrows at Stephen from about fifteen meters out. The arrows that do make contact only sink deep into Stephen’s shield. Nicolas sees that his attack is ineffective and a look of worry grows on his face as Stephen springs up, breaking the arrows off his shield with his spear, and sprints toward Nicolas. Nicolas immediately drops his longbow and displays a short sword and a dagger. Stephen’s spear is aimed directly at Nicolas’s head. At the last second of his charge, Stephen drops his spear down toward Nicolas’s abdomen, hoping to fool him. But Nicolas is too quick and he parries the spear with his short sword and slashes Stephen’s spear with his dagger. Stephen is not injured but the attack leaves his shield severely damaged. They run past each other and stand in battle ready stances. Sweat drips down their faces and Nicolas rotates his arm, flexing his wounded shoulder. They lock in battle once more. Nicolas has a hard time getting past Stephen’s spear and shield and landing a deadly blow. Nicolas is forces to bob and weave, dodging the thrusts of the spear. During on mistimed dodge, Stephen’s spear head pierces the top of Nicolas’s inner leg where there is a gap in his armor. His breaches fill with blood and his movements slow. At a moment’s notice, he launches his dagger at Stephen’s head. Stephen draws his shield up to block the dagger and it thuds deep into the shield. At this moment, Stephen’s view is blocked by the shield he holds in front of his face in order to block the dagger. Nicolas raises his short sword high above his head as he grabs the end of Stephen’s spear. He pulls the spear toward him since Stephen still holds the spear, he follows. Nicolas brings his short sword down with such brute force on Stephen’s arm that he cuts through his gauntlets and severs his wrist. Blood squirts from his bloody stump. As Nicolas wastes no time and begins to hack at the shield that Stephen holds over his body as his only protection. The shield begins to fall apart and Nicolas’s sword begins to clanks off Stephen’s armor. Nicolas eventually knocks Stephen to the ground. He steps on Stephen’s shield and arm pinning them both to the ground. Stephen bangs his bloody stump off Nicolas’s leg, trying to free himself. It is no use and Nicolas brings his sword down driving it through Stephen’s neck. Winner: Nicolas the Noble

Dale makes a quick change at Trevor, katar in hand. Trevor takes careful aim with bow, and unleashes an arrow directly at Dale’s chest. Dale sees the arrow coming and jumps out of the way at the last second. As Dale rolls to the side, the arrow whizzes by doing no harm. Dale springs up having put his katar away and draws his own bow. Trevor seems surprised as Dale stands up, stringing an arrow into his bow. But Trevor is able to pull out his quarterstaff, dropping his bow, and stand ready for the worst. Dale starts unleashing a hail of arrows upon Trevor. Trevor is able to spin and parry to avoid getting hit, while knocking the stray arrows out of the air with his quarterstaff. He slowly works his way closer to Dale and, in a daring move, spins his quarterstaff, hooking it on Dale’s bow string and ripping the whole bow from his hands. Trevor then brings the opposite end of the quarterstaff around, smashing it into Dale’s helmet. If Trevor was using his glaive he would have definitely beheaded Dale. Dale blacks out for a second and falls hard to the ground. Trevor raises quarterstaff above his head and begins to beat Dale’s body. Dale’s armor protects him until he reaches up and catches the other end of the quarterstaff. His hands scream with pain he tries to yank it from Trevor’s hands but Trevor’s grip is too strong and Dale instead pulls him to the ground. Both toss and turn on the ground trying to gain control of the quarterstaff. Dale holds on to the quarterstaff with one hand as he reaches for one of his sai. He pulls it out and jabs it towards Trevor’s hands. The main spike of the sai pierces Trevor’s gauntlet and is driven deep into Trevor’s wrist. This makes Trevor release his grip on the quarterstaff as he shrieks in pain. Dale jumps to his feet with his newly won quarterstaff and jabs it into the dirt so that it stands on its own. He sheaths his sai next to the other and pulls out his katar. He swings it several times straight through the quarterstaff cutting it into pieces and slowly destroying it. After eliminating Trevor’s weapon, Dale flourishes his katar and stands in a battle stance ready for the next attack. In this time Trevor has risen to his feet, blood running down his forearm, and reveals the glaive he carried on his back. They charge at each other and being to interlock in combat. Steel clangs against steel and Dale brings his katar down towards Trevor’s head. Trevor quickly blocks it with the shaft of his glaive held between his two hands. His glaive handle bows and Dale pulls his katar back and thrusts it towards Trevor’s chest. Trevor jumps a quick step backward, still holding his glaive in the same position, parallel to the ground with two hands. Instead of pulling his katar back towards himself, Dale swings it upward breaking the shaft of the glaive where it had been weakened. Trevor stares at his broken weapon but he thinks quickly. As Dale makes another jab at him, hoping to catch him off guard, Trevor spins clockwise as he moves to his left. Dale continues to move forward but Trevor is now behind him. Trevor pierces Dale’s back plate using the broken glaive handle with the blade attached. Trevor takes the upper hand and makes quick work of the fatally wounded Dale. Winner: Trevor the Tenacious

Kellie unleashes a war cry and rushes at Adam with her spear held out in front of her. She is not running that fast so Adam has time to fire off a few arrows. The first whizzes past her head, but the next two hit her in the thigh and the shoulder, piercing her armor. This doesn’t stop Kellie even though she has already begun to bleed. Adam replaces his bow with two short swords and flourishes them as Kellie takes the final steps towards him, arrows jutting out of her body. Kellie begins to jab at Adam, but he is able to easily deflect the thrusts. Adam is finally able to make an “X” with his sword blades pointing downward to force Kellie’s spear to the ground. Adam then kicks the spear and it breaks into two half pieces. Kellie reacts quickly and jumps backward avoiding Adam’s blades. Kellie now holds a spiked flail and once Adam sees it he takes a few steps back. Kellie begins to skillfully swing the flail, its spiked end flying past Adam’s body. Adam jumps and dodges the weapon and even gets knocked one of his swords knocked from his hands as he tries to defend himself. He can’t get close enough to attack with his short sword and he finally realizes that his glaive would be more effective. He sheaths his remaining sword and unleashes his glaive. Kellie continues to swing her flail near Adam, hoping to make a deadly strike. Adam takes the chance on Kellie’s backswings to stab at Kellie with his glaive. Most of the time the blade clanks harmlessly off her armor but sometimes he finds the holes in her armor and the blade on his glaive meets Kellie’s flesh. Both begin to tire of this repetitive fighting and then Adam finally makes his move. Adam waits for Kellie to get a little off balance, and then he grasps the glaive low on the shaft and swings it in a large circle, aiming for the soft meat of Kellie’s neck. But Adam judges Kellie’s swing wrong and before he knows it her flail is inches away from his right leg. A look of worry appears on his face as the flail smashes into his leg and its spikes drive deep into his thigh. Adam’s grip is released from his glaive and it goes flying far from the fight. Adam is launched from the impact of the blow as the flail is ripped from his leg. Blood pours from his wound as he grasps his leg. Kellie approaches the wounded Adam and raises her flail above her head for the fatal skull crushing blow. At the last second, Adam jumps back, unsheathing his sword with his right hand, and lands with his right knee and left hand touching the ground. The flail-head smashes into the dirt and is stuck there. Kellie looks bewildered as he tries to remove the weapon from the earth. Adam lunges forward launching himself into the air. Kellie puts her hands up to cover her face. Adam seems to hang in the air as he brings his sword across Kellie’s wrists, cutting off her hands. Adam’s feet land on her shoulders and force her body to the ground. Adam stands above Kellie as he raises his sword above his head. Kellie claws at Adam’s ankles with her bloody stumps as he drives his sword deep into Kellie’s skull. Winner: Adam the Annihilator

The battle begins and Samuel immediately hides behind his shield for fear of Forrest’s longbow. Forrest instead decides to charge Samuel, his glaive held out in front of him. By the time that Samuel realizes that no arrows are hitting his shield, Forrest’s glaive almost cleaves Samuel’s shield in two as it slices down, almost hitting Samuel’s arm. Forrest has just enough time to free his glaive from the shield before Samuel yanks it away. Forrest continues to jab at Samuel, trying to get around his shield and into his flesh. Forrest fakes for Samuel’s feet but instead brings his glaive in towards Samuel’s chest. Samuel brings his shield up as fast as he can and just misses the glaive. As he continues to bring the shield upward, he forces the glaive up with it. The shaft of the glaive slides along the edge of the shield. The blade on the glaive, once aimed for the chest, now slips between Sam’s helmet and his face. Forrest pulls back on his glaive and the blade leaves a deep cut in Samuel’s cheek. He grabs for his face as he drops his shield. Forrest goes in for the kill but his glaive is met with the fancy axe head of a halberd. Samuel and Forrest lock in combat. Their blades clash as they each wield their weapons like they were an extension of their own arms. Forrest seems to have the upper hand, while Samuel barely seems to block each blow. However, Forrest is clearly tiring as the battle continues. On one swing, their weapons interlock and they force each other’s weapons to the dirt. Forrest lets go with one hand and punches Samuel on his helmet near his cut cheek. Forrest’s fist shatters but he crushes in the side of Samuel’s helmet causing him immense pain on the side of his head. Both opponents release their weapons as they nurse their wounds. Blood coats the side of Samuel’s head clouding his vision. Samuel spies Forrest nursing his broken hand with his back to him and subsequently unsheathes his broadsword. He walks toward Forrest on silent feet, who is hunched over, seemingly nursing his hand, and raises his sword above his head. Just before Samuel is about to bring down his sword upon the unknowing Forrest, he spins around. Samuel is so surprised he freezes up. Forrest thrusts his arms forward, a dagger in one hand and a stiletto in the other. He jabs one forward into Samuel’s armor. As he pulls it back out, he jabs the other weapon forward. He alternates weapons, thrusting each forward in succession with spectacular speed and into Samuel’s ever bloodying chest. The broadsword slips out of Samuel’s hands which are still held above his head and lands point first in the dirt. He glances down at his chest a look of disbelief appearing on his face. The blood loss takes its toll and he slumps to the floor. Winner: Forrest the Foul

Patrick and Bittinger stare at each other from across the arena. Both are out for blood and each want to advance to the next round. Patrick holds a large halberd in both hands and moves his hands up and down its shaft, adjusting his grip. Bittinger pulls an arrow across his longbow and aims at Patrick. As he unleashes his first arrow, Patrick springs forward. He runs toward Bittinger letting out a war cry. He dodges or deflects every arrow that whizzes his way. As Patrick nears his opponent, Bittinger lets loose one last arrow. The arrow bounces off Patrick’s halberd blade and right into his left shoulder. Patrick’s left hand releases its grip on his halberd from the force of the arrow. Bittinger jumps on the opportunity and quickly pulls out a light sword in one hand and a sword breaker in the other. Patrick tries to defend himself with his halberd in his right hand, as his left arm hangs limp at his side. With a little skill and a few good swings, Patrick is able to draw his halberd across Bittinger’s shins. The halberd slices through Bittinger’s shin armor like butter and leaves him with two deep, bloody gashes in his legs. Bittinger grimaces with pain as he tries to continue fighting. He falls to one knee in pain and Patrick takes the time to remove the arrow from his shoulder. His whole left side is coated in blood, but he shrugs off the pain and jumps back into the battle. Bittinger’s swords and Patrick’s halberd lock in combat. Neither can gain the upper hand. Bittinger gets an open shot and swings his sword in and removes the axe-head from Patrick’s halberd. Patrick throws away the now useless halberd handle. Bittinger tries to slice Patrick up before he has enough time to rearm himself, but Patrick uses his clawed gauntlets to deflect the blows and final pulls out a light sword. Bittinger is too fast for Patrick and he has a hard time landing a blow, but Patrick sees that Bittinger is slowing and having a hard time standing up on his injured legs. Patrick’s sword then interlocks with Bittinger’s sword breaker. Bittinger now has an open shot at Patrick because he is holding his sword in his sword breaker. Just as Bittinger stabs at Patrick, Patrick twists his sword and, although it shatters in the sword breaker, it throws Bittinger off balance and he stumbles forward. Patrick spins to Bittinger’s back and puts an arm around his throat. Bittinger gasps for air as a broken sword hilt sprouts from his chest. Bittinger’s eyes cloud and he drops his sword. Patrick jumps back as Bittinger claws at the sword in his back, but he cannot remove it and falls over dead. Winner: Patrick the Pwner

Both warriors run at each other. Both bear a short sword and a shield. They clash and are almost both knocked down by the force of the collision. Their sword dance against each other’s shields as they both battle for the upper hand. Carly notices that Turner is mostly using to his shield to block his upper body. She looks for an opening and swings her shield at Turner’s head. He leans back dodging the blow by a hair. Carly immediately twirls her sword and then stabs it directly into Turner’s foot, pinning him to the ground. He howls in pain and lashes out with fury. Carly does the best she can to avoid the blows but before she can get out of range of Turner’s swings she obtains some deep cuts on her arms and legs and she starts to bleed. Turner hurls his sword at Carly and she has just enough time to raise her shield. The blade buries itself deep in Carly’s shield. Turner pulls out the sword in his foot and throws it away, along with his shield, and pulls out twin sword breakers. Carly removes Turner’s sword from her shield and runs back to face him. Turner makes quick work of disposing Carly’s short sword. She backs away knowing that she is almost helpless. Turner gives an evil glare as he puts away his sword breaker and pulls out an enormous war hammer. He beckons Carly forward, and she gives a screech as she rushes in, trying to knock Turner over with her shield to gain an advantage. At the last second Turner dodges Carly and she flies past him. Turner quickly swings his hammer as this is happening and crushes Carly in the back while she passes by him. She screams in pain as the hammer leaves a dent in her armor and pain travels up her back. As she flies forward from the force of the impact, she twists her body around and pulls out her whip simultaneously. Before she hits the ground she manages to unleash her whip and it wraps itself around Turner’s neck bringing him down with her. Turner loses his grip on his hammer and it skids across the ground as he falls hard on his back knocking out his breath. Turner gasps for air as Carly lifts herself from the ground and nears Turner with her hatchet raised above her head. As she approaches Turner he comes to and, still lying on the ground, kicks his feet over his head, nailing Carly in the chest. She falls to the ground, lying on her stomach, gasping for breath as both of her chest plates press in on her lungs. Turner removes the whip from his neck and brings himself to his feet still stunned. He has his back to Carly and is bent over taking in large breaths of air. He looks over his shoulder at Carly, who still stunned, is bleeding and twitching on the ground with no air. He thinks he has the battle won but as soon as he turns his back, Carly grasps her hatchet and rolls over with her last efforts, planting the hatchet in the base of Turner’s spine. He topples over, paralyzed and screaming, and bleeds to death in immense pain. Carly removes her armor and breathes a sigh of relief that the battle is over. Winner: Carly the Carnivorous
